Week 7/52 week challenge

Okay, I know I skipped week 5 and 6, but I had the idea for week 7 already in my head and had to get it done. Not only is it week 7 of my 52 week challenge, but is also for one of the challenges over at Scrapfit and A Walk Down Memory Lane's Design Team blog. I based the layout off the sketch challenge from AWDML and the challenge from Scrapfit was to use red, pink, and white, the word valentine had to be in the title, you had to use hearts, and the picture had to have someone you love in it.

I took the picture of the kids because they are truly my favorite valentines, and the little picture on the tag under the big picture is of the cards that Abby and Matthew both made and the paper rose that Abby got on campus for us.

I used Basic Grey Sugar Rush and Lemonade papers and alphabet, Making Memories alpha bet, chipboard hearts from Hobby Lobby and my Martha Stewart edger punches.

MIA

Oh my goodness! I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I've had the chance to get on and blog. It's not like I have been terrribly busy, but it just seems like I can't find the time to get on here. Anyway, a little update on what's been going on. Scott and the boys got an Xbox for Valentine's Day and have not been able to stop playing it. As soon as one stops playing the other one starts! They are really enjoying it.
This weekend Matthew has been sick. When we got home from getting Abby on Friday night he told us he didn't feel good and I checked his fever and it was 101. We gave him ibuprofin and he went on to bed. He woke up around midnight throwing up and did that off and on until mid morning. We thought he was feeling better, but by 5 a.m. he was throwing up again. But I do believe he is starting to feel much better. He has been able to eat a little bit and keep it down. Now I just hope the rest of us don't get it!

Sketch #8 MSW sketch-a-thon

Here is the card I made using today's sketch from the MSW sketch-a-thon. I used scraps from my week 4/ 52 week challenge, too. They were laying on my desk, I needed to make a birthday card and it only took a few minutes to get done!

Week 4 of my 52 week challenge

My week 4 layout had to be about my boys and their birthdays! I used the sketch of the month from Scrapfit for this one. It feels a little plain to me - I think it's because I haven't put any journaling on it. I may go back and a little strip journaling to the bottom, I just haven't decided yet. We did things a little different with the boys' birthdays this year. Only a day separates them and since Matt's was on Sunday and Shane's would be on Tuesday and Abby wouldn't be home to help celebrate Shane's, we decided to celebrate them on the same day. It was a little different but it worked!

Sketch a thon at MSW

Lucy's got a sketch a thon going on for the month of February. You can find out all the details on the blog - www.mysketchworld.blogspot.com - or at the website - www.mysketchworld.s2.bizhat.com. She is having a brand new never before seen sketch each day for the first 20 days. They will alternate between layout sketches and card sketches. I've already printed off the first three and can't wait to be able to work with them. I will be sure to post when I get them done.

Week 3 of my 52 week challenge

I finally was able to get this layout done. I knew I wanted to use the pictures of me and Scott on our anniversary, but my goodness - getting the papers to work for me was a challenge! I finally settled on this and all in all I like the way it turned out. I used a sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches and the oh so cute Bo Bunny Love Bandit papers. I know my week 4 layout will be of the boys' birthdays - I just haven't figured out how I'm going to do it yet.
