Thank You Card - Project 4/50

I am so glad that I finally am finding some time to catch up on here! I am back with my 4th project in my 50 Projects challenge. The prompt for our Week #20 challenge at Scrappin N Chattin was to thank a veteran or military person and we had to use red, white, and blue, and a star. I used this week's sketch #137 from Freshly Made Sketches.
Here is a look at the sketch:

 And my card:

Another quick and easy card! I used up some scraps from the Bella Blvd. - All American collection. I am going to be so sad when I have this collection all used up - it is one of my favorites.

Thanks for stopping by!

Project 3/50 - Graduation card

My next project is a graduation card that I made for my 52 week card challenge over at Scrappin N Chattin. I am pretty sure I was out of this challenge by this time last year, so I am happy that I am still going strong this time around!  The prompt for week #19 was to make a graduation card. I ordered the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die a few weeks ago (while on my spending spree) and I absolutely love it! I bought it for my Project Life pages, but so far I have mainly used it on cards.

I randomly stamped a graduation cap and diploma on a piece of white cardstock and then used the 3x4 journaling card die to cut it out. I mounted that card on a piece of red paper, added a few metallic silver stars and it was done. I also finished out the inside by die cutting another 3x4 card and stamping a diploma and a message on it.

I don't finish out the inside of my cards very often, but I really love it when I do!

Project 2/50 projects

I am finally back with project #2! Sketch N Scrap is having their 2nd Birthday Bash throughout the month of May. There has been so many great challenges posted that I want to play along with, and I am hoping that I can get quite a few done over this long holiday weekend.

The first challenge I played along with is Jennifer's Scraplift Challenge. Be sure to check out her blog to see some beautiful close up shots of her layout! Here is the layout we were to scraplift:

And this is what I came up with - another layout of Miss Ada on her 5 month birthday:
supplies used - patterned paper - My Mind's Eye (yellow) and Pebbles Special Delivery (grey),  grey dot washi tape - Close to My Heart, Enamel dots - Doodlebug Design, Tab punch - We R Memory Keepers, Pennant punch - EK Success, Border punch - Martha Stewart, Heart charms die - Sizzix, Alpha - EK Success.

The cute little hearts on this layout are from an old Sizzix die - we're talking one of the first big clunky red dies from the original Sizzix, that has been sitting on a shelf for years - yes years! - and I have never used it. I don't know why I haven't used it before now, but I am sure it will be getting lots of use in the near future!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

Trying to get back on track

I joined the 50 Projects Facebook group back in February. This group was created to help us scrappers use up our stash. The deal is you are to make 50 projects - layouts, cards, etc. before you buy any scrappy goodies. Then after 50 projects are made, you reward yourself with a scrappy purchase. I was doing fairly well.

I had made it to about 15 projects in about as many days, when I fell off the wagon. We're not talking just a little stumble - it was a full blown face plant off the wagon! Too many cute baby collections and with a new granddaughter and not much pink in the stash - I couldn't resist. And then there were 6x6 paper pads...yeah... I think my supply of these babies has doubled in the last couple of months. And some spring/summer collections that I just couldn't wait for.

Soooo - I am now trying to get back on track. To regain my "focus". That is my one little word for the year after all. I have made a few projects while on my spending spree - I've kept up with my 52 week layout and card challenges, but that has been about it. I have definitely been collecting more than using. But that all changes today. I am restarting my 50 Projects challenge and I will  stick with it until I have 50 projects completed. With summer break almost here (just 10 more days!) my plan is to share my 50 projects here on my blog. Maybe that will hold me somewhat accountable.

Here is project number 1:

I just used some scraps and washi tape on this layout - at this rate it will take me quite a long time to use up my stash!

1 down. 49 to go. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can>

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Mother's Day!
