Lasting Memories #278 - Lucky Me

Hi guys! Good Sunday morning to you! I hope that you are all enjoying your weekend. We have had a few beautiful - make me really want for spring - days. Highs close to the 60's and low's in the 40's...talk about nice! It all comes to an end the middle of the week and we'll be back to 30's and a chance of snow flurries, but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts!

It's (almost) the start of a new month, and that means a new theme and new challenges over at Lasting Memories. For February we are all about the blues. All of our challenges will be color/photo challenges - all focusing on the color blue, plus one other color.

Here is our first color palette for this week:

When I saw this first color challenge, I immediately thought of this photo of me and  my husband. The colors we were wearing were a perfect match for the blues in the inspiration photo with a pop of pink. (The blues in the photo look a little off, but I promise they really do go together!) I've been wanting to do a layout about how lucky I am to have my hubby by my side in this journey that we are on, so I made a spot for some hidden journaling on the back side of the page. Everyone will agree that marriage is hard, but throw a special needs son in the mix and it adds on a whole new level of stress and challenges. Our marriage is far from perfect, but I am so glad that I have him to help figure it all out!

Please stop by the Lasting Memories blog to see what the other team members have created. I hope that you have some time to play along with our challenges this month! I look forward to seeing your creations!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a beautiful day!

Valentine's Day Card With Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #144

Hello everyone! I'm popping in to share another Valentine's Day card with you using Crate Paper's Love Notes collection and this weeks Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #144.

I have been trying to get this collection used up this month since it's been sitting in my stash for a while. I still have at least one more design team project using this collection coming up that I can't share quite yet, but with this card I think it is safe to say that I am done with this collection! All I have left is 2 full sheets of paper (I'm not sure I will ever use them!) and just a few scraps. What scraps I do have left that are big enough I will cut down to 3x4 or 4x6 size and make pocket style cards out of them. Anything else will be tossed out. Stay tuned for a wrap up post showing everything that I created with this collection and what is left.

Be sure to check out the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog. They have a new sketch every Monday, and lots of inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

Sweet Baby Love - Scrapbook Challenges #468

Hello everyone! Good Monday morning (or afternoon - or evening!) to you! We have had a very busy weekend! We spent the day Saturday moving our daughter and son in law into their new house! They lived in a second story apartment and moved to a two story house. Let me tell you, my legs are feeling every set of stairs that I climbed Saturday! But, I am so happy that they got everything moved, and that they are settling in to their new home. Then yesterday we celebrated our oldest sons 18th birthday. We just had a quiet party at home since we were all worn out from the move, but since my other sons birthday is Tuesday (he will be 16!), I am sure next weekend we will be celebrating right!

Today we have a brand new sketch for you over on the Scrapbook Challenges blog. It is another fantastic sketch and I know I will be using it again.

I really wanted to use the three small photos, but didn't have any handy, so I decided to do a one photo layout this time around. My layout is also lacking my journaling, but I plan to journal directly on the layout some personal thoughts for Miss Ada.

I used up some more of Crate Papers Love Notes collection on this layout. I am now down to just bits and pieces of this collection. Hopefully I'll get a couple more cards, and maybe another layout done, but I am happy with how much I have used up of this collection. I plan on taking a photo of all of my projects that I've made using this collection at the end of the month, and what little bits I have left of the collection.

Head on over to the Scrapbook Challenges blog to see the other design team members take on the sketch. There is a lot of inspiration to be had! I hope you can find some time to play along!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Cute Indeed

Hello everyone! We had another snow day today and I enjoyed a day full of scrapping! I am here to share one of the layouts that I made - a just for fun, no design team layout!

We've got a month long member crop going on over at Inspired To Scrap.  We have a challenge posted every Monday and every Thursday to help us scrap away the winter blues! For Monday's challenge, Lisa challenged us to use the January 15 sketch from Sketch N Scrap. Since this wasn't one of my assigned sketches, I hadn't had a chance to use it yet. This was the extra push I needed to get it done!

Here's the sketch:

I really liked this sketch when I first saw it, and I even had pulled a different photo and papers to use with it. Then, when I started my mission to use up my Love Notes collection from Crate Paper (you can read more about that here), I remembered this photo of Ada from last summer. I have been wanting to scrap it since I took it the end of August, but I just couldn't find the right papers. When I pulled out the Love Notes collection out and it had the black, red, and greys in it...well, I knew I was finally going to get this photo scrapped!

After this layout I only have a few full sheets left, and I have to admit that they are not my favorites, and I'm not sure if I will get them used. But, my scraps are almost gone! I had to get creative with some of the pieces for this layout to get it to work! So, I am excited that I am getting so much of this used up! I also finally remembered to pull out my much neglected ephemera containers and get some pieces of it used up.

I'm hoping to get another layout or two done before the end of the night...we shall see how it goes!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great evening!

Officially Homeowners - Scrapbook Challenges - Recycle It

Hello everyone! Happy hump day to you! We have our first snow day today - not because of snow, but because of ice - yuck! Well, yay for no school - yuck because of the ice! We didn't get a lot, but it doesn't take a lot to make the roads treacherous.

We have a new challenge up over on the Scrapbook Challenges blog. Today we have our Recycle It challenge. Choose one of the sketches from the following graphic and create a layout about a fresh start. You also need to do some mixed media on your layout.

I chose the first sketch on the graphic for my layout about my daughter and her husband officially becoming homeowners. They signed the papers on December 30 ad we will be helping them move in this weekend! I can't think of a better subject for a fresh start!

I'm not much of a mixed media person - I just haven't taken the time to really experiment much with it. So, mists and splatters is about as adventurous as I get in this area. Maybe one of these days I'll dive in a little deeper and learn some new things!

Check out the Scrapbook Challenge blog to see the other design team members take on this challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #66

Hello everyone! Happy Hump Day! I hope that you are having a good week and are looking forward to the weekend. I know I am!

There is a new card sketch up over on the Sketch N Scrap blog today. Lisa has once again created a great sketch for us to work with.

Since Valentine's Day is right around the corner, I thought I would use some more of Crate Paper's Love Notes collection and make a Valentine's Day card. As I told you in this post here, I am trying to get this collection used up before the 15th of February. I've been doing a pretty good job of using it, and I'm hopeful that I will get it used up.

Head on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog and see the beautiful cards from the rest of the team. I hope you find some time to play along with our challenges this month. You have until the 31st to enter!

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a wonderful day!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #254

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! We've had a cold couple of days and I am missing the warmer temperatures already. The cold weather makes it the perfect time to stay in where it's warm and scrap!

We have a new sketch challenge posted over on the Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday blog today. So, if you're looking for something to do - this just may be it! Our optional twist is "Simple elegance".

I made another Valentine's Day card using this sketch. I did not use the optional theme of simple elegance, but I think it turned out pretty cute anyway! Valentine's Day cards are one of my favorite cards to make, probably because I don't have to worry about if they're too pink! Pink and Valentine's Day go hand in hand, right?! I used some more of Crate Paper's Love Notes Collection. I think I have used a good majority of my scraps now, so maybe I'd better try to get a couple of layouts done with it before the middle of next month! If you want to know more about why I'm trying to use up this collection, please go here.

I printed my sentiment off of the computer since my Valentine's Day Stamps weren't the right size for what I wanted.

I hope you get a chance to play along with our sketch challenges this month. You have 2 weeks to get them made and linked up over on the blog or our Facebook page.  I can't wait to see your beautiful creations!

Be sure to stop by the Try Stampin' blog to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the team.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Use Your Stuff #207 - Hello, I Love You

Hello everyone! I am back with my third post of the day. If you're looking for my reveal for The Memory Nest, please go here. If your looking for my reveal for Sketches In Thyme, please go here.

We have a new challenge posted over on the Use Your Stuff blog today. This week Karrie is challenging us to use at least 3 patterned papers on our projects.

I have created a quick and easy card for my project this week. I used 3 patterned papers from Crate Paper's Love Notes collection that I have been trying to use up this month. You can read more about that in this post here. I die cut the hearts out of some pretty red glitter paper that has also been in my stash for ages.  The "Hello, I Love You" sentiment is from one of my new favorite obsessions - rotary phrase stamps. This particular one is from Maggie Holmes' Shine collection. My collection of these little tools is growing fast. They just add such a fun touch to a card, layout, or journaling card.

I used this sketch from Pals Paper Arts (PPA282) from earlier in the month. It's too late to join in their challenge, but I wanted to give them credit for using their sketch.

PPA-282-Jan07

Head on over to the Use Your Stuff blog to see the projects from the rest of the team. I hope you find some time to play along with our challenge this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Birthday Wishes - Sketches In Thyme #181

Hello again! I am back with my second of three posts today. If you're looking for my reveal for The Memory Nest, please scroll down or go here.

Today is my day to be featured over on the Sketches In Thyme blog with the week 3 sketch #181. This great double page sketch for week 3 is courtesy of Shawn.

I thought this sketch would work well for these photos of Ada on her birthday, blowing out her candles, and enjoying her cupcake! She was just getting in some practice before her big party the next weekend!

This sketch is perfect for a series of photos, and if you don't want to make a double page, either side would be perfect for a single page layout. I have had this layout out on my desk for almost 2 weeks trying to get the circles on the bottom of the sketch to work with my layout! I tried to add them, but they just got lost in the already busy dot paper, so I chose not to use them. I may go back and add a cluster or two on each side, but I think it looks all right with out them.

We've had 3 great sketches so far this month and one more to come a little later. Kim is offering up a beautiful paper collection as this months prize, so make a layout using one or more of our sketches for a chance to win!

Be sure to check out the Sketches In Thyme blog for your daily dose of inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back soon!

Make It Monday #52 With The Memory Nest

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to you! It truly is a happy Monday for me - no school for the boys today, so that means a nice relaxing day at home for me!

We have a brand new sketch, courtesy of Katie, over on The Memory Nest blog today.

When I saw this photo of Abby and Ada on Facebook, I knew I would be making a layout of it. You can just see so much love on both of their faces! Abby said she tried to get Ada to look at the camera, but she just kept looking at her, so she just took the photo like that. I think it is perfect just like this!

This was such a fun sketch to work with! I was going through my 6x6 paper pads because I knew I wanted to use a whole 6x6 sheet behind the photo. When I found the We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard 6x6 pad, my search was over! I just love the beautiful, soft colors, and I thought they would be perfect for a girly page about my two favorite girls!

Check out The Memory Nest to see the projects from the rest of the team. You have until the end of the month to play along with both of our sketch challenges. If you play along and link up over on the blog, you are entered to win a $10 gift certificate from The Memory Nest.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I will be back soon with another project to share!

Lasting Memories #276 - The Next Chapter

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a great day. We are right in the middle of a three day weekend around here, and enjoying every minute of it!

Lasting Memories has posted the new challenge for this week. Our theme for January is "New Beginnings" and this week's challenge is "A New Life Event". Think marriage, a new baby, moving, a new job, a new school, etc.

Since my oldest son is a senior in high school, and getting ready to graduate in a few short months, I've been thinking a lot about his next big life event - heading off to college. He's been busy filling out scholarships, and his acceptance letters from the colleges and universities that he has applied to have been coming in.

This next chapter in his life will be exciting and I'm sure a little scary, not only for him, but for me as well! Matthew is a smart and sensible young man, and I know he will do great things.

Be sure to stop by the Lasting Memories blog to see the layouts from the rest of the design team.

I hope you find some time this weekend to do something that you love!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a fantastic day!

Flashback Friday at SBC - Playing With The Big Kids

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Feeling Sketchy reveal, please scroll down or go here.

It's Flashback Friday at Scrapbook Challenges, and we have a fun sketch that has gotten a make over for you!

I've had these photos of Ada playing with her cousins, out on my desk for a while. When I saw this sketch I knew it would be perfect for these photos. I kept this layout pretty plain and simple - just the way I like them! The photo really doesn't do it justice, it looks much better in person!

I kept my photos at a 3x3 size since most of them couldn't be cut down any smaller, and I just adjusted the spot for journaling to go at the bottom to fit what I had to say.

We always get together at Scott's Mom and Dad's house for lunch over the Memorial Day weekend. This year Ada was big enough to get out and run after her cousins. They were quite a bit faster than Ada, so Pop's had to join in the fun and help her out!

Check out the Scrapbook Challenges blog for more inspiration from the rest of the team.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic Friday!

Feeling Sketchy #137

Happy Friday! I hope you are having a good morning! I am so happy that we have just about made it to the weekend, and it is a long weekend for us! No school on Monday! This week has felt like an extremely long week - probably because we were looking forward all week long to the long weekend.

I can't believe that we have made it to the middle of the month already. That means that we have a new sketch for you today over on the Feeling Sketchy blog.

I am still working on using up my Crate Paper's Love Notes collection that I told you about in this post here.  I just love the fact that even though this is a "love" collection, a lot of the papers are generic enough to use them for other things - like this birthday card!

Head over to the Feeling Sketchy blog to see the projects from the other design team members and read about our prize for this sketch. I hope that you find some time to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I will be back soon!

U R So Rad

Hi guys! I'm back again with my second post for the day. If you're looking for my Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style post, please scroll down or go here.

Today is reveal day for the Stick It Down card design team, and that means it is my very first reveal as a design team member! Evelyn created a great sketch for us to work with. Here's another look at the sketch that was posted on the first:

I really loved the circle element on the sketch and fully intended to use it. However, when I picked out my papers I decided to make a birthday card for my son. As I was going through the Simple Stories So Rad paper pad, I saw this little cut a part and decided to go with it instead of a circle. But, that's the great thing about sketches - you can use them as a starting point and put your own twist on it.

Stop by the Stick It Down blog to see the cards from the rest of the card team. You have until the end of the month to join in any of our sketch challenges.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

SIT Project Life Style - Red, White, and Cute

Hello everyone! Today is my day to be featured over on the Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style blog using this week's sketch #10. Crystal has created another fun sketch for us this month.

I've jumped ahead a bit in Ada's first year album. Here is the card I created for this sketch:

I found this 6x6 paper pad from Little Yellow Bicycle on ebay back in the summer and fell in love with it. I knew I would be using it for lots of 4th of July layouts, and being 6x6 - it is perfect for these project life style cards.

I decided to go with some patriotic colors and hearts. This was Ada's first Fourth of July celebration and she had just learned to sit on her own. That required lots of photos of the big girl posing by herself!

I really like doing the 6x8 size, but it is a challenge for me to narrow my photos down to just a couple of pages and still have room for journaling and filler cards! I still need to do the other side of this spread, but I am working on which photos I want to use for it. It may wind up being a multiple page part of her album! I will be sure and post the finished pages again when I get them done. Maybe I'll try to start posting my project life style pages once a week instead of once a month...

Be sure to check out the SIT Project Life Style blog. There's inspiration posted every single day. You can also use your cards on a traditional page - it doesn't have to be the pocket style layout.

Kim is offering up a fun prize again this month. Play along with any or all of our sketch challenges and you will be entered to win this:

I hope you find some time to join us in January!

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #141 - Be Mine

Hello everyone! I am back to share my first Valentine's Day card with you using Crate Paper's Love Notes collection.

As I told you in this post, I am challenging myself to get this collection used up, and this is my first project from it.

I have used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week:

For my card I cut into three of my most favorite papers from this collection. I've gotta say - that was hard for me to do! Part of me wanted to keep these pretty papers in their 12x12 form, but I am determined to get this collection used up! The doily and heart stickers are from the sticker sheet, and the "be mine" sentiment is from the stamp set.

Head over to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog and check out this weeks sketch challenge. If you want to play along you better hurry, the challenge ends tonight.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I'll be back soon!

Use It Or Lose It!

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday to you! I hope you are having a good weekend. We had our first snow of the season yesterday. We only got a couple of inches, so nothing major.

Once again, one of my scrappy goals is to work on my stash this year. I've done this for a couple of years now, but I still have not made a dent in my stash. It doesn't help that I keep adding to it! I have changed my spending habits over the last couple of years, so at least I'm not adding in as much when I do buy, and I have a purpose for what I buy.

So, I am challenging myself to pick a collection from my stash to work with each month, and to get it used up. At the end of that month whatever is left...well, lets just hope there's nothing left! Okay, let's try this again, at the end of the month whatever is left will either get tossed or find a new home somewhere else.

The collection that I have picked for this month is Crate Papers Love Notes collection from a couple of years ago. I love this collection. The colors are so soft and pretty, and I love the patterns - stripes, dots, hearts - all favorites of mine. I bought quite a bit of this collection when it first came out, and I've already made several layouts and cards from it, but I am ready to get it used up! (And maybe replace it with a new collection! You never know!)

Here's a look at what I have left:

8 full sheets, 1 cut apart sheet, 1 piece of vellum, and scraps. I have saved every tiny bit of this collection. If I can get a heart die cut out of it, I saved it. I also have most of the sticker sheet left and the stamp set to use. I will be pulling other papers and embellishments from my stash as needed to help me get this used up.

You will be seeing several cards, hopefully a few layouts, and some project life style cards from this collection. Even though this is a love collection, I think I will be able to use it for other things as well.

Since I am starting this later in the month, I am giving myself until the 15th of February to get this used up. Fingers crossed that I can get it used up!

I will be back soon with my first project using this collection.

Thanks for stopping by and wish me luck!

Celebrate - Try Stampin - Or Not - On Tuesday #252

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday! We are slowly getting back into the old routine after the holidays. Those first couple of days are always hard.

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday has a brand new sketch posted today. Crystal has created another great sketch for us to work with.

The optional twist for this sketch is to use something sparkly.

I have created a birthday card with some sparkly gold stars. I am slowly building up my stash of cards for this new year. Now if I just remember to send them!

A couple of reminders about our challenges - stamping is optional, you can use just the sketch, or pair it up with the optional twist. Our challenges run for 2 weeks, so you have plenty of time to play along with us. Also, you can enter over on the Try Stampin' blog or on the Facebook page.

Check out the Try Stampin' blog to see the gorgeous cards from the rest of the design team. I hope that you are inspired to play along!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

What A Pair - Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #465

I am back with my third and final post for the day! If you are looking for my first reveal for The Memory Nest, please scroll down or go here. If you are looking for my Use Your Stuff reveal, please go here.

Scrapbook Challenges has a brand new sketch to kick off this new year! Here is a look at the sketch:

After Christmas I treated myself to a little shopping trip to the scrapbook store - mostly because I knew I needed to get some papers for these photos of Ada and Willie. I've been wanting to scrap these photos since I took them, but I just didn't have the right papers in my stash for them. (Wink, wink!) So, I picked up these fun papers from Jillibean Soup, and a few others might have jumped in my basket!

About the photos - Ada and Willie are quite a pair. He is always so happy when I bring her home with me on Monday morning after not seeing her all weekend. He follows her around and she thinks he's pretty fine, too. Although she still has not mastered the gentle touch, they are still good buddies. Maybe it's because Ada loves the outdoors as much as Willie does. He knows we will venture outside at least once a day for a little walk - unless it's raining.

When we do go out Willie is never far from Ada's side. We had these mole hills (?) or dirt piles in our yard during the fall, and Ada thought they were pretty fun to climb on, or in some instances lay on! Willie was always right there to make sure she wasn't going to get hurt!

That's about it for me today! Head on over to the Scrapbook Challenges blog to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. I hope you can play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic day!

Hello Love - Use Your Stuff #205

Hello again! I am back with my second of three posts for the day. If you are looking for my first reveal for The Memory Nest, please scroll down or go here.

The new challenge is up over on the Use Your Stuff blog and yours truly is hosting it this week of the new year! My challenge is to use a tag on your project!

Friday morning I got up and did a big clean up in my scrap room. Well, maybe I should say I did a big clean up of my scrap desk, but hey, it's a start! While I was straightening up, I came across an ephemera pack from Pink Paislee that had this cute tag and heart transparency in it. Since my hubby and I will be celebrating our anniversary later this month, I thought this would be perfect goodies for an anniversary card.

I used an older sketch from Try Stampin On Tuesday that I had pinned to my card sketch board on Pinterest. I believe  it is from 2014.

I hope you have some time to play along with our challenge. You can check out the Use Your Stuff blog to see the how the other design team members used tags on their projects.

Thanks again for stopping by! I'll be back soon with my third post of the day!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #51

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to you!

I am so excited because today is my first reveal for The Memory Nest! I have always loved their sketches and this one is no different! Here's a look at the first sketch of the year for The Memory Nest:

I just love these photos of Miss Ada on her giraffe! She's gotten to be quite the little dare devil and tries to stand on the seat and rock - much to her Mommy's dismay!

My friend, Sandi, had sent me a RAK right before Christmas, and it had these fun Bella Blvd papers in it. When I saw the colors, and that cute little giraffe that I cut out from one of the papers, I knew they would be perfect for these photos!

To be honest, it wasn't until I was typing up this post that I even seen the panel of paper on the left hand side of the sketch! I guess I will be looking a little closer next time!

Be sure to stop by The Memory Nest blog to the rest of the design teams take on this sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I have a couple more projects to share with you today, so I will be back soon!

Lasting Memories #274

Good Sunday morning! I hope that you have had a nice holiday season and are now ready to get back into the routine of things. Even though our Christmas break didn't seem very long, I'm ready to get back into a routine for a while!

It's the start of a new month and that means a new theme and a new set of challenges over on the Lasting Memories blog!  For January our theme is "New Beginnings", and for our first challenge we want you to - show us what you do that's NEW.  A new activity, sport, project, hobby, making a new friend...

I gotta say, I kind of struggled with this one. Having a son with autism, we just don't do a lot of new things! I think we're all stuck in the routine of things that Shane likes. Maybe that should be one of my goals for the new year - to make us get out and try new things once in a while!

Any way, after making one layout and realizing it would be better suited for one of the other challenges, I finally decided on this one. I guess rolling over for Ada (at the time) was a new activity for her!

Be sure to check out the Lasting Memories blog to see the layouts from the other design team members. I hope you can find some scrappy time to play along with our challenges this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #140 - Congrats...

Hello everyone!

I hope you are having a good weekend! I am just popping in to share a card with you that I made using the newest Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch:

And here is my card:

My daughter and son-in-law just took the next big step and bought their first home! I thought I would make them a card to congratulate them on this momentous occasion! I found this house paper in an old Echo Park 6x6 paper pad and thought it would make the perfect card for them.

Check out the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog to see the sketch - you have until Sunday night to link up if you want to play along!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back soon!

Stealing A Little Kiss - SNS #96

Hi guys! I am back with my second post for the day. If you're looking for my Feeling Sketchy reveal, please scroll down or go here.

I am back again with a fabulous sketch from Sketch N Scrap. Lisa has created our first sketch of this new year, and it is a fun one!

In my last post I told you how I am going to try to use up more of my stash in 2016. For this first layout of the new year, I pulled an old paper collection (from 2012) from Close To My Heart. I remember when I got this collection I fell in love with it and was always waiting for the perfect pictures to come along to use it. I'm sure in the last 3 or so years that I have had plenty of pictures that would have worked beautifully with this collection, but I wasn't done hoarding it, I guess! I thought the navy and the orange and the pink worked so well together for this photo of Matthew and Ada - not too girly, but not too masculine either.

The journaling on this layout says - Matt won't readily admit to just how much he loves Ada, but these photos show just how much he really loves her!

I'm sure if you ask him he will tell you that he is not kissing her in that bottom photo, but I think the proof is there! He may not admit it out loud to anyone, but he thinks his little niece is something else. They have such a special bond and I hope it just continues to grow.

Be sure to stop by the Sketch N Scrap blog to see the rest of the design teams take on Lisa's beautiful sketch. I hope you find lots of time to get scrappy and to play along with our challenges in this new year. As always, you have until January 31st to link up to any of our challenges.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Feeling Sketchy #136

Hello everyone! Happy New Year to you! My wish to all of you is to have a happy, healthy, and blessed 2016 filled with lots of scrappy time!

The start of a new month means the latest sketch from Feeling Sketchy is here! Our sponsor for this sketch is Bugaboo Stamps. Here is the first sketch of the new year:

Once again I am determined to use up more of my stash this year. I'm not ready to go on a spending freeze just yet, but I am going to put forth the effort to use what I have first.

I purchased a Simple Stories box from Steals.com back in the summer, and it was filled with their packs of 3x4 and 4x6 pocket cards, and a few 2x2 squares. In my box I got a few things that I already had, so I am trying to find some new ways to get them used up. For my card I cut down one of the 4x6 journaling cards to use as my background. For the image part I used a 3x4 card cut down just a bit, and then the stars and banners are also cut out of some of the different cards. It was fun to look at some product and find different ways to get it used!

Head on over to the Feeling Sketchy blog to see how the rest of the team used this sketch and to find our more about our sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us! I look forward to seeing your creations!

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon!
