Sketches In Thyme PL Style Sketch #64

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! This first week after spring break has seemed like a long one! I am glad that we have made it to the weekend! The countdown to the last day of school has begun, and I think we only have 27 and a half school days left!

Today I am up on the Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style blog with my take on sketch #64. Here's a look at the sketch:

I made a journaling card based on this fun sketch.

So, at the beginning of the year one of my goals was to stay somewhat caught up on my Project Life album - meaning I had planned to have January completed by the middle of  February. Yeah. That didn't happen. Here we are at the end of March and I am just getting my first week done - and it's not even completely done - only the first part of the week is done! What can I say? Life has just been busy! It doesn't bother me to not be where I wanted to be - summer vacation is right around the corner, and I hope to really catch up then. In the meantime I will continue to stay caught up on getting my photos printed and ready for my album, and I will grab a minute whenever I can to work on my album. Knowing that Sketches In Thyme PL Style is back up and going will help out immensely!
Here is a look at the first part of my first week of January using Echo Park's "Just Be You" collection!

And here are a few photos of each card up close:

I hope to be sharing the second half of my first week a little later on next week.

We will be posting a new sketch for you over at Sketches In Thyme PL Style tomorrow, and there will be a prize up for grabs next month as well, so be sure to stop by the blog and check it all out! We are also looking for a few guest designers for upcoming months, so if you're interested send me an email at loristroup@yahoo.com!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a fabulous Friday!

Soul Scrappers Double Delight #1

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a good day!

Today is the day that my first challenge goes live over at Soul Scrappers! I am hosting "Double Delight" - a double page sketch challenge - and I would love it if you played along!

Here's a look at my layout for the challenge:

For this layout I have used Imaginisce's "Hello Spring" collection. I also dug through some of my old stash and pulled out some old metal pieces to add to my layout of Miss Ada's first experience of coloring Easter eggs last year. She thought it was pretty cool that the eggs changed colors, and she was pretty darn good at dunking those eggs!

To see the sketch that I chose for my first "Double Delight" challenge head on over to Soul Scrappers! Be sure to read the rules while you are there!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope that you have a great day!

Paper Play Sketches #39

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday to you! I hope you are having a good week.

We have a new sketch for you today at Paper Play Sketches. It's another great sketch, and one that I know will be showing up in my Project Life album, as well. I think this will make a super cute filler card for my album, but today I have a card for you.

For this card I have used an older Pebbles collection - Garden Party. I just love the colors in this collection. The sentiment is punched from one of the cut apart sheets.

Head on over to Paper Play Sketches to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We would love to see your creations using this sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Make A Wish - Soul Scrappers

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Christmas Card Challenges post, please scroll down or go here.

Today I am playing along with a song lyric challenge at Soul Scrappers. The song that was chosen for this month is Savage Garden's "Truly, Madly, Deeply" - one of my favorite songs! When I first saw that this was the song that we were to use, I really thought I would make a love type layout, but when reading through the lyrics I found a line that said, "I'll make a wish send it to heaven", and since I have been on a birthday layout making kick here lately, I went with  "Make a wish" and made a birthday layout!

For this layout I have used a mix of papers from my stash - the teal background is from Echo Park's "Sweet Summertime" collection, the cream with pastel triangles background piece is from Crate Paper's "Poolside" collection, the teal and white piece is from Crate Paper's "Confetti" collection, and the pink dot and all of the embellishments are from Simple Stories "Carpe Diem" collection.

These are photos from Abby's 22nd birthday party. I can't believe that my girl is 22 in these photos, and I really can't believe that this was almost 5 years ago! How is it possible that she is going to be 27 in September??? Time just keeps flying by!

Come on over to Soul Scrappers and check out our challenges! We have a great variety throughout the month.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Christmas Card Challenges #9

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday to you! I'm kinda sad that today is our last day of spring break! At least we only have about a month and a half and we will be on summer break - just 30 more school days, I think...

We have a new challenge for you today at Christmas Card Challenges. Our challenges are always anything goes, but we do provide an optional challenge if you need a little boost! This week our optional challenge is a word prompt - "Mittens".

For my card I have used Crate Paper's "Bundled Up" 6x6 paper pad, and the mitten die cut is from Poppy Stamps - "Stacked Mittens". The sentiment is from Neat and Tangled - "Simple Christmas" stamp set, one of my favorites!

This is one of those cards that I like so much more in person! The colors look so much better together in person than they look in this card - they all really do match!

Head on over to Christmas Card Challenges to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #204

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has a new sketch posted over on the blog, and I am here today to share my take on it with you.

For this Mother's Day card I have used Simple Stories "Love and Adore" 6x6 paper pad, and the light pink doily is from the sticker sheet. Since I have zero stamp sets that just say "Happy Mother's Day", I have printed off the sentiment using the Magnolia Sky font on my computer. I changed up the placement of my sentiment since I didn't have much room the the top of my card to include one there.

Be sure to stop by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog tomorrow for the full design team reveal. We love it when you play along with our sketches, so be sure to link up!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #314

Hello everyone! Good Tuesday morning to you! I hope your week is off to a great start! Yesterday was the first day of spring, and it definitely felt more like summer! We were in the upper 80's with lots of sunshine! It was so nice to have the windows open and to air the house out!

We have a great new sketch for you today at Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday. This week's sketch is courtesy of Vicki, and our optional theme is - baby animals.

For this card I used an American Crafts 6x6 paper pad called "Spring". I didn't have anything with baby animals, so I thought since yesterday was the first day of  spring that I would make a spring -y type card. I kind of wish I would have added a square or something behind the tags, because I feel like they are just floating around on the front, but they are stuck down for sure, so there won't be any changing that. Oh well, live an learn!

Head on over to Try Stampin' to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with us! You have two weeks to join in on our challenge, and you can enter either on the blog or on our Facebook page here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope that you have a great day!

Stick It Down March Card Reveal

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Today is the full design team reveal  for the card sketch team at Stick It Down. Here is the fun sketch that was posted on the first of the month.

For my card I did the "smooshing" technique with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers. I die cut the word "happy" four times using a die from Memory Box, and the "Birthday" is from a Jillibean Soup stamp set "Birthday Bisque".

I had some metal photo corners out on my desk for our 100 Pattern Paper Facebook group challenge which is to use some metal in March, and I thought these corners with the stars were perfect for this birthday card!

The tiny black stars were punched using my old Fiskars punch. I am so happy to be getting more use out of my older tools again!

Head on over to Stick It Down to see the cards from the rest of the design team. We hope you have some time to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #94

Today we have our second card sketch of the month for you over at Sketch N Scrap. Lisa has created another fantastic sketch for us to work with!

For my card I have used Pebbles - Seen and Noted - 6x6 paper pad, and a sticker that is also from Pebbles. I stuck to the sketch and this card came together in a matter of minutes.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. You have until the end of the month to play along with any or all of our sketches for a chance to win a great prize.

Sketches In Thyme #269

Hello everyone! Happy Friday and Happy St. Patty's Day to you! I am so happy that we have made it to the weekend! Next week my youngest son in on spring break, and I plan on getting a lot of scrapping done!

Today is my day to be featured over at Sketches In Thyme. This time around we are working with a sketch by the talented, Sara Mishler.

I have created an Easter layout using Echo Park's "Sunny Days Ahead" 6x6 paper pad.  Easter is just around the corner, and I thought I'd better get last year's Easter photos scrapped before I get a bunch more this year, so I'm sure you'll be seeing a few more Easter layouts over the next couple of weeks!

I had three photos that I wanted to use for this layout, and this sketch was easy to adapt to make that happen. I love that when it comes time to color Easter eggs, the whole family is still willing to help! Even Shane will come in and dunk an egg or two, and it doesn't matter how many eggs we make, there never seems to enough!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to link up your layouts to any or all of our challenges by the end of the month for your chance to win a GC to Creative Embellishments! Head on over to Sketches In Thyme to read all about it!

Have a great day!

Paper Play Sketches #38

Hello, hello! I am back with my third post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here. If you're looking for my Love To Scrap Challenge Blog reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Today we have a brand new sketch for you over at Paper Play Sketches.

I have pulled out some old Basic Grey papers for this card. I have been hoarding these papers since I the day I found out that Basic Grey was no more. I think this Oh Baby! Boy! line is my most favorite line, so it was doubly hard to put them to use, but better to use them up instead of having them sit in a drawer!

Head on over to Paper Play Sketches and join the fun! We love it when we see you playing along!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Love To Scrap Challenge Blog Ch #95 - Anything Goes

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

I am back to share my card that I have made for Love To Scrap Challenge Blog. This month our challenge is "Anything Goes",  and I had the pleasure of working with a digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps. I chose to work with Cute Puppy precolored image.
 I

I have used Echo Park's "We Are Family" 6x6 paper pad. I thought the colors were a good match for the precolored image. I stamped the sentiment from a Hero Arts stamp set using my Stamp Perfect. I really love this tool! I added a puffy heart for just a little dimension, and I think my niece is going to love this card!

Head on over to Love To Scrap Challenge Blog to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back with one more project to share with you a little later!

Sketch N Scrap #125

Hello everyone! Good Wednesday morning to you! We've made it to the middle of March already - can you believe that?! Summer will be here before we know it!

The middle of the month means we have a new sketch for you today at Sketch N Scrap. Heather has created a great sketch for us this time around. I think this just may be one of my favorites from her!

One of my goals this year is to start getting some of the older photos of my kiddos scrapped. I've done a few of my boys so far, but I haven't done any of Abby from when she was younger, so when I came across these photos of her I wanted to get them scrapped.

Okay, so I have a little confession to make. So many of my older photos don't have the date written on the back of them. Thank goodness I have done much better with my more recent photos! I do remember specific things that happened while we were at the park that day, but I have no idea exactly when it was. I see Abby is wearing her Spongebob t-shirt, and I do know that she was Spongebob crazy when she was around 12 or 13, and she has lightened her hair, which she did the summer before she went into junior high, so I am confident that these photos are from the summer of 2013, but that's as close as it gets!

For this layout I have used Shimelle's "Star Shine" papers. The colors in this collection were a great match for the park equipment and Abby's shirt. For the title - which is just her name - I die cut the letters and then outlined them once they were on the layout to help them stand out a little better.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. You have until the end of the month to play along with any of our sketches for a chance at a fun prize.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project!

Make It Monday #84 @ The Memory Nest

Hello, hello! Happy Monday to you! Boy did that weekend go by fast! I know they usually do, but with Daylight Saving Time beginning this weekend, it really went by fast!

Are you ready for a new sketch to work with? It's Make It Monday over at The Memory Nest, and Leslie has created another great sketch to work with.

This photo of Ada just makes me smile every time that I see it. We were at my niece's Sweet 16 birthday party and she had a Mardi Gras theme. Ada wasn't too sure of all the masks that everyone was wearing when we first got there, but once she put one on she didn't want to take it off!

For this layout I have used a mix of patterned papers that I had in my stash. The paper with the hearts on it is from Crate Paper's "Hello Love" collections, the light green behind the photo is from Amy Tangerine's "Rise and Shine" collection, and the pink is from Amy Tangerine's "Better Together" collection. The project life cards on each side of the photo are from Pink Paislee's "Bella Rouge" collection. I added in a few extra papers cut down to a 3x4 size to go behind the photo.

You can't tell it in the photo - the colors look a little off - but the pink and green metallic papers match her mask and the little bit of green in her shirt.

Be sure to stop by The Memory Nest to see how the rest of the design team used this sketch. I hope you get a chance to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fabulous day!

Christmas Card Challenges #8

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Lasting Memories reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Christmas Card Challenges has a new challenge posted for you today. Our main rule is to create a Christmas/holiday card, and each week we have an optional challenge for added inspiration. This week our optional challenge is a photo challenge.

I loved the silver and gold on the white background. You can't tell it very well in the photo, but the sentiment is embossed using gold embossing powder. I always have a hard time getting a good photo of it! The white panel is embossed with a small dot embossing folder.

Stop by the Christmas Card Challenges blog to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We hope that you are inspired to get your Christmas cards started early!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Lasting Memories #335 - Include Lots Of Numbers!

Hello, hello! Good Sunday morning to you! Are you having a good weekend? It has turned back cold here in the middle of the US! We were 80 degrees on Thursday and then in the 30's on Saturday. Luckily our area missed out on the snow!

We have a new challenge posted over at Lasting Memories today. DT Sandy is providing the challenges and the prize this month. Our challenge for this week is a fun one!

"Numbers" - include lots of numbers on your layout - with an optional challenge of making a birthday layout.

I just love this photo of Matthew. When he was little he was always such a good sport to pose for pictures! Now that he is 19 - not so much! Now I usually get a - "Do I have to look at the camera?"! I just take what I can get!

I have used all Echo Park papers - most of them scraps - on this layout. Even the star was already cut out and in with my scraps! The balloon sticker, the label, and the "it's your birthday" sticker are from a sticker sheet from Carta Bella's - It's a Celebration - collection.

Here are a couple of close ups of the clusters:

I based my layout off of this fun sketch that I found at Cocoa Daisy from February.

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see how the rest of the design team interpreted this challenge. We hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Soul Scrappers Card Challenge And Some News!!

Hello everyone! I hope that you have had a good day! I am just popping in here really quickly to share a card - and some exciting news - with you.

I have created this card for the February "Hugs and Kisses" card challenge over at Soul Scrappers. This card challenge ends March 14th, so there's a few more days to play along! The challenge was to use the words "hugs" and/or "kisses" in some form.

I found this older Studio G stamp set in my stash, and I had to get it inky for this challenge. I just love this little free hug coupon! I used papers from Crate Paper's "Cute Girl" 6x6 paper pad.

Now for my news - I am super excited to announce that I am now a member of the Soul Scrappers Design Team! I will be hosting a double page sketch challenge on the 30th of each month. I would love it if you came over and played along! My first challenge will be up on the 30th of this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by tonight! I'll be back soon!

Paper Play Sketches Color Challenge

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday to you! We have made it to the middle of the week and the weekend will be here before we know it!

We are changing things up at Paper Play Sketches starting this month. We will now be alternating between sketch challenges and color challenges, and this week is our very first color challenge.

Just a little note - the colors do not have to be an exact match, you can use other colors as well, but we must be able to see these colors in your creation.

Here are the colors that Amy has chosen for us this week:

When I first saw this color combo I immediately of these old My Mind's Eye papers that have been in my stash for ages. (The copyright says 2005, so I've hung on to these for a while!)

The sentiment is a die cut using a Sizzix die set by Stephanie Bernard. A nice bright birthday card ready to be mailed out to someone!

My card is based off of this older Paper Play Sketches sketch from February 2017.

Head on over to Paper Play Sketches to read the rules for our color challenge and to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #202

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #202 is posted over on the blog, and I am here to share my take on the sketch with you. Here's a look at the sketch:

For my card I have used Fancy Pants' "Happy Place" 6x6 paper pad, and the sentiment is a stamp from Art C.

I just purchased the Stamp Perfect stamp positioning tool by Hampton Arts, and I already love it! I've been wanting a Misti for a while, but have just never gotten around to getting one. I just happened to be at Micheals during their 40% paper crafting sale and found the Stamp Perfect. What better way to try out one of these tools than when you get it for $15! I know it will be a tool that will get a ton of use!

Be sure to stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge on Wednesday for the full design team reveal and the announcement of last week's Top 3. We hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #312

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope your week is off to a good start. We are trying to get into a new daily routine around here - which is always fun when you have a kiddo with autism - but this new routine is going to be better for him, and I am sure we'll all be used to it in no time at all.

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday has a new sketch posted today. Today's sketch is courtesy of Vicki, and the optional challenge is "angles".

I have used Echo Park's "Just Be You" 6x6 paper pad for this card, and the sentiment is from the sticker sheet. This was a very quick and easy card to make, and I kinda like the simplicity of it!

Head on over to Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. You have two weeks to play along with this sketch, and you can enter on the blog or on our Facebook page here.

I hope you get some time to get creative this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Make It Monday #83

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to you! Are you ready for the new week?

Well, today is Make It Monday over at The Memory Nest, and that always makes Mondays better! Leslie has created an awesome two photo sketch for this week!

I have used Doodlebug's "Puppy Love" papers for this layout. How fitting for these photos of my son in law with his new pup! I added in some lines for a little bit of journaling, once I get the details from Shawn! (These photos are from 2011, so it's been a while for me!)

In our 100 Pattern Paper Challenge Facebook Group we have been challenged to use up some metal in March. I did not realize how much metal I still have in my stash! While going through it all I found these metal photo corners and decided to use them on this layout.

Be sure to stop by The Memory Nest to see the layouts from the rest of the design team. We hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Lasting Memories #334

Hello again! This is my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Lasting Memories has a new challenge posted for you today! DT member Sandy is providing our challenges in March! Our theme for March is "Birthday". We realize that not everyone may have a lot of birthday photos to scrap, so our challenge this week is to add a banner to your layout - with the option to make a birthday layout.

I do have quite a few birthday photos to still scrap, so my layout today is a birthday layout! I've fussy cut a few banner pieces to add at the top of my layout. The background looks a little dull, but it's not a true white, it is more of a light grey.

These are photos from Shane's 16th birthday. Since he is not a cake fan, he got chocolate donuts and chocolate chip cookies for his dessert!

Head on over to the Lasting Memories blog to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. We hope you have some time to play along with our challenges this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #93

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a good weekend! As usual mine seems to be flying right on by!

Sketch N Scrap has their first card sketch of the month posted today, and Heather has created a fantastic sketch for us to work with!

For this card I have used all scraps from my scrap box. The two orange papers, the yellow, and the blue were all laying on the top of the pile, and I thought they would make a fun birthday card. The sentiment is from an old Studio G $1 bin stamp set. I decided to mat all of the papers in black to help them to stand out a bit more.

This is such a fun sketch with a lot of possibilities. Why don't you give it a try?!

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the cards from the rest of the design team!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!
