UYS #297 - Button Up!

Hello, hello! Happy Monday to you! Once again the weekend just flew by - the weather was beautiful and we spent a lot of time outside enjoying it!

We have a fun new challenge for you today at Use Your Stuff. This week we are challenging you to use a long-forgotten item in your stash - Buttons! Use at least 2 buttons on your project. They can be real or paper - just show us 2 buttons.

For my project, I have used 2 wooden buttons that have been in my stash for ages. I must admit that I had a hard time using these cute little guys on a project. I have been hoarding them for a while now - they are just so cute - but, I am determined to make this the year that I use my pretties on projects - no more hoarding!

I used my favorite Valentine's Day color combo - kraft, red, and white on this card. The patterned paper is from Pebbles' - Be Mine - 6x6 paper pad. I used a die from Close To My Heart for the scalloped border and a die from Lawn Fawn for the heart. I tried adding my sentiment to the front of the card but couldn't get it to look like I wanted it to, so I added it to the inside.

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. I hope you have some time to play along with us this week. I would love to see what you create with your buttons!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

HIMCR #337 - Any Holiday

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope that you have all had a good week and are ready for the weekend. I tell you what, January is usually a long, slow month in which I can do a lot of catching up, but not this year. I don't know what the deal is, but I just can't seem to get into a good routine! About the time I think I've got it, something comes along to throw a kink in my plans! Here's hoping that February will slow down a little bit!

We have a new challenge for you today at Hiding In My Craft Room. This week's challenge is - Any Holiday. Our sponsor this week is Laurie's Craft Room and the prize is $10 worth of product and free shipping from her site.

Since Valentine's Day is right around the corner, I thought I would make another Valentine's Day card. I've used Fancy Pants' - Sweet Nothings - paper. I just love those hot air balloons and hearts!

I die cut the hearts from a Lawn Fawn die and the sentiment is from Close To My Heart's - Whooo's Your Valentine (D1548).

Head on over to Hiding In My Craft Room to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. We hope you have a chance to play along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

AHSC #248

Hello, hello!

I am back today to share the latest sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge with you. Michelle has created another fantastic sketch for us to work with this week.

I am still trying to add birthday cards to my stash and when I saw this sketch I thought it would be perfect for a birthday card.

I have used Fancy Pants' - Be Different - 6x6 paper pad. I really like the papers in this paper pad and I think they work well for birthday cards. The sentiment is from a Sizzix Framelits stamp and die set - Celebrate. The balloon dies are from Taylored Expressions. For the balloon strings I separated a piece of crochet string and I love the wavy effect of it!

Our full design team reveal will be tomorrow over on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog, along with last week's Top 3. We would love to see you playing along with this fun sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

January Card Design Team Reveal - You're Sweet

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the new week!

Today is the full card design team reveal over at Stick It Down. We have a prize sponsor this month - Angie's Digital Stamp Shop - and one randomly selected winner from all of our challenges will receive 2 digital stamps from her shop!

Here is a reminder of the January card sketch:

Oh, what an adventure I had trying to make my card! I had originally planned on using my texture paste and a stencil for my background...but then my texture paste was hard...not sure what happened there because the lid was on nice and tight, but there was no spreading it around! Then I thought - maybe I'll use paint with my stencil...yeah, I am mixed media challenged I tell ya! After several attempts, I gave up on that idea! In the end, I went with an embossing folder in which the hearts look like they are falling - kind of like the stars on the sketch, and it worked for me!

I had the pleasure of working with the heart cupcake digi stamp. I colored it with my Prima watercolor pencils. There are varying shades of red on this card, which sometimes bothers me, but throwing in that little bit of pink on the scalloped circle helped to tie it all together.

Head on over to  Stick It Down to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We would love to see your take on this fun sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Have a great day!

LM #379 - Word Play - Adventure

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you! I hope you are having a good weekend. Mine is going by way too fast!

Lasting Memories has a new challenge posted today. This month our theme has been - Word Play - and this week our challenge is the word "Adventure". Use some form of the word - adventure, adventurous, adventurer, etc. on your layout. This can be in the title, in the paper, in your embellishments...just have it somewhere on your layout.

For my layout, I have used photos of Ada on her first trip to an amusement park - that is always an adventure! The word "adventure" shows up in the word stickers on the side of the top photo.

I used the old Urban Traveler collection from Simple Stories. I thought the colors in the collection were perfect for these photos - so bright and fun!

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. We would love to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

HIMCR #336 - Color It

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! Do you have anything fun planned this weekend? My husband and I will be celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary (it was actually yesterday) and we will be celebrating our oldest son's birthday this weekend. He will turn 20 this Wednesday, but since he came home from college this weekend, we will celebrate it now. Looks like a lot of fun family time for us!

Hiding In My Craft Room has a fun challenge this week - Color It! We want to see your coloring skills on your project!

Fred She Said Designs is our sponsor this week and the giveaway is a $10 Gift Certificat to their store.

Fred She Said Designs offers a wide variety of digital products with a floral flair and cute characters too - Digi's, Pre-coloured images, Papers, Sets, Fred's Flower Kits, and even digital cutting files. Have some fun with Fred!

I had the pleasure of working with the Emma & the Cake digi

For my card, I have used scraps from Crate Paper's Poolside and Cute Girl collections. I colored the image with my Prima watercolor pencils.

Head on over to Hiding In My Craft Room to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. We hope to see you playing along with us this week!

Hello again! This is my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Counterfeit Kit Challenge post, please scroll down or go here.

I am so excited to be sharing my first reveal for Scribbles Design Challenge Blog! Scribbles Designs is turning 5 this month and we are celebrating with a challenge and a new release party!

Our challenge for January is a birthday challenge - create a birthday related project!

Today is the final day of the new releases and we are featuring the Woolley Party. This whole set is the cutest set ever, and I had the pleasure of working with Willy Woolley:

Isn't he the cutest little sheep you've ever seen? I just adore him and the other stamps in this set. The sentiment is also included in the set. Since it is a birthday celebration I had to add some sprinkles paper to my card!

Now, on to the fun stuff...one lucky person that leaves a comment on this post will win the Willy Woolley image that I have used! You have several more chances to win the individual stamps that we have used and the complete sets. You can find all of the details over on the Scribbles Designs blog here

Click HERE to head on over to DAY 3 of our New Release Party! If you missed DAY 1, please click HERE, and for DAY 2, click HERE

CKC - Challenge #2 - Inspired By Nature

Hello, everyone! I hope you are having a good week! The weekend is right around the corner!

We have the second challenge of the month up over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge today. This challenge is "Inspired By Nature" - feature something from nature on your layout.

Here's a reminder of my kit for this month:

I created a layout of our first snow of this season. It wasn't a lot, just enough to cover the ground and make everything look so pretty, and it was gone by noon, but I was able to get a few good photos while it was here.

All of the papers on this layout are from my kit. I made another circle embellishment using pink hearts for my date, and the alphas and sequins I pulled from my stash. This is typically not the colors I would use on a snow layout, but I really like the pink and green.

Be sure to check out the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog to see how the other design team members have interpreted this challenge. We would love to see you playing along!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Be Brave - Sketches In Thyme #309

Hello, everyone, and Happy Wednesday to you! We have another snow day today and I am enjoying it. I am going to have to venture out soon to make a grocery run!

Today is my day to be featured on the Sketches In Thyme blog with my take on Sketch #309, courtesy of Bev.

I decided to stay true to the sketch and have a messy background. Since we've been having cold and snowy weather, I was in the mood to scrap some nice summertime photos.

I did the smooshing technique for my background using Tim Holtz distress ink in salty ocean - I thought it looked like water drops. I wanted a few layers of paper behind my photo, so I dug into my scrap pile and found these Echo Park papers that were a good match. It looked like it was missing a little something, so I added in the banner, circle, and date at the top of the page.

Head on over to Sketches In Thyme for more inspiration from the design team. We have a fun prize being offered up this month and we would love to see you playing along!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Tic Tac Tuesday #1 with Try Stampin' On Tuesday

Hello and Happy Tuesday! We have a snow day today, so it is definitely a happy Tuesday at my house! It is a bit cold - we are definitely not used to these single digit highs that we will be seeing today, but it will be a great day to stay in and scrap!

We are changing things up a bit at Try Stampin' On Tuesday and today we have a new challenge for you - Tic Tac Tuesday! Just choose any line on the tic tac toe board below to create your card!

For my card, I used the diagonal row from top left to bottom right - black, heart, and red. I have used and older 6x6 paper pad from Seven Paper - Amelia. It is filled with lots of reds and pinks and black and white papers - perfect for Valentine's Day!

The sentiment is from an older Close To My Heart set - D1548 - Whooo's Your Valentine and is one of my favorites!

Head on over to Try Stampin' On Tuesday to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team using our Tic Tac Toe board. We would love it if you played along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Use Your Stuff #295 - Monochromatic

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! Are you ready for the new week? We have today off for the holiday but I think it's pretty safe to say we would have been off regardless since we are getting some snow! The way it's looking right now we may have another day off tomorrow...

Use Your Stuff has a fun new challenge posted today. Our challenge for this week is - Monochromatic - create any type of project that you like - just make it monochromatic!

I have had the Pebbles' - Be Mine - 6x6 paper pad out on my desk for a couple of weeks and I've been in the mood for some fun Valentine's Day cards, so for my monochromatic project I went with reds/pinks. I think that little bunny is so cute!

I am very happy with myself because - all of the papers on this card, with the exception of the base panel, are scraps from the other projects that I have made with this collection so far! I am getting better about using up my scraps as I go - if only I could get better about doing this with my 12x12 papers!

I based my card off of this card sketch from Sketch N Scrap's New Beginnings Crop Challenge #4 that is happening now until January 31st.

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see the beautiful monochromatic projects from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

A New Adventure!

Hello, hello! Happy Sunday to you! I am smack dab in the middle of a long weekend and enjoying every minute of it! The kids are always lucky to actually get MLK Day off of school - we're usually having to make a snow day up on it - but this year we have been lucky in the "no snow" department and so we are getting the day off.

I have some exciting news to share with you today! I am thrilled to announce that I am now a "Scribbler" for the Scribbles Designs Design Team!

I just found this challenge blog a few months ago, and I fell in love with their digital stamps! They have such a wide variety of images and sentiments and I am looking forward to working with them and sharing inspiration using them!

Their challenge starts on the 15th of the month beginning at 7 a.m PST with mid-way inspiration on the 1st and lasts until the 14th of the month. You can read all of the rules over on the blog here.

We are kicking off the year with a big 5th Birthday Party Blowout Bash, so get ready for some fun! I hope to see you playing along with us!

HIMCR #335 - Super Scraps Saturday

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! I hope that you have had a good week and are ready for this weekend. We have a long weekend - thanks to the holiday coming up on Monday - and I am looking forward to that extra day off! It will just be me and Shane since Scott still has to work and Matthew will be back to college, and I am looking forward to a day of scrapping!

We have a new challenge up today at HIMCR! The second Saturday of the month means it's my favorite challenge - Super Scraps Saturday! Our sponsor this week is Sweet and Sassy Stamps and the prize is 3 digital stamps from their store.

I got to play with this super cute little mouse image this week. The papers were scraps that I had out on my desk from a couple of other projects that I will be sharing with you later on this week. I figured that instead of putting them in my scrap pile, they should be what I use for this week's challenge! The grey and green pieces are from Close To My Heart's - Sugar Rush - collection and the pink is a scrap of one of the papers from my Counterfeit Kit Challenge from earlier this month. You can find my full kit reveal post here.

Head on over to the HIMCR blog to see the cute cards from the rest of the design team. We would love to see what scraps you are using on your projects this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #246

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope that your week is off to a good start! The first of the year has started off very busy for me...not that I mind, but I do hope to find a little balance soon!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has the new sketch for the week posted and I can't wait to see what you create with it.

I will admit that I struggled a little bit with this sketch. Not that it was hard to work with, but I'm in that mode of I don't really want to work on Christmas cards, I've already made several birthday cards - I didn't really know what kind of card I wanted to make, or what papers I wanted to use...

I had the "Be Mine" 6x6 paper pad by Pebbles still out on my desk, so I finally decided to make a Valentine's Day card - and once I had decided, it all came together so quickly! I did add a heart underneath my sentiment and I think I may have liked it better if I'd kept the sentiment straight instead of at an angle, but it is glued down now and not coming back up!

We will have the full design team reveal tomorrow at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, along with last week's Top 3. We hope you find some time to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

HIMCR #334 - Your Favorite Colors

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! We have made it to the first weekend of the new year! Do you have anything fun planned?

We have a new challenge posted today at Hiding In My Craft Room. Our sponsor for this week is My Besties and the prize is 3 of their images - winner's choice.

Since it is the first challenge of the month - we have a color challenge for you today. Use 3 of your favorite colors on your project.

3 of my favorite colors are yellow, pink, and turquoise and that is what I have used on this card.

I used the My Besties - Little Dimples - image on my card - and I just realized that I attached it a little on the crooked side! I will be sure and get that "straightened" out as soon as possible! I colored the image with colored pencils - using mainly my 3 favorites!

Head on over to Hiding In My Craft Room to see the projects from the rest of the team! We hope to see you playing along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #113

Hello and Happy Friday! This has been a short "work" week, but goodness, it has felt long! Getting back into a routine is always hard after a break, and the super cold, dreary days aren't helping any!

Sketch N Scrap has a new card sketch posted today. Heather has created a fun sketch to get us started in the new year.

Since the days have been so cold and dreary, I thought I would brighten things up with a nice, bright, sunshiny card!

I've used Echo Park's - Splendid Sunshine - papers and the sun is from the sticker sheet. The sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn stamp set called "Hello Sunshine".

I think the bright yellow and the sunshine will brighten someone's day!

Head on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see the sketch and the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We can't wait to see what you create!

Before I go, we are also getting ready for our "New Beginnings" Crop. The fun starts on January 11th and will last until the 31st, so be sure to check it out! You can find it on our events page here. We hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

December Daily Days 18 and 19

Hi, everyone! Just popping in here really quickly to let you know that my December Daily Days 18 and 19 are up on the Let's December Daily blog today. Head on over and check it out!

Forgeries On The Fourth With Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Hello, everyone! I don't know about you, but I have been a day behind all week thanks to the holiday on Monday!

I am so excited for this post today - I am sharing my first "forgery" with you today! Here is a reminder of our inspiration kit at Counterfeit Kit Challenge this month:

I was inspired by the tags, labels, banners, and decorative circles that can be found in the kit, and I made a set of my own.

I die cut the large and small tags and added a piece of off-white to the large tags. The labels were created by die cutting the banner piece and adding it to a piece of patterned paper. The banners were hand cut and I used scraps from the tags to top them with - no waste here!

I created two sets of the circles with hearts on them. The large circles have hearts stamped directly on them and the small circles have die cut hearts attached to them.

A pretty quick and easy forgery all ready to be added to future layouts!

Be sure to stop by the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog to see the forgeries from the other Master Forgers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Die Cuttin' Divas Ch #350 Guest Designer!

Hello, everyone! Good Tuesday morning to you! Today we are back to the old routine...vacation was nice, but it's kinda nice to get back to a routine again.

I am so excited to be a guest designer today over at Die Cuttin' Divas - and it's one of my favorite challenges - a sketch challenge!

I thought I would start off the new year with making a few birthday cards to add to my stash. I used Simple Stories - Let's Party - papers, my Spellbinders circle dies, and the balloon dies are from Taylored Expressions. The balloons are actually inlaid in the circle, but that's a little hard to tell in the photo. I don't really have any small birthday sentiments - at least not small enough for my liking to go on this card - so I printed my sentiment off of the computer and added it to my card.

A nice, bright, cheery birthday card all ready to send out this year!

I want to thank Georgiana and the rest of the Die Cuttin' Divas team for having me as their guest this week! Be sure to stop by and check them and why don't you play along with us this week?!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

LTCCB #18 - Anything Goes

Hello again! I am back with my 4th post of the day! If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here. If you are looking for my Counterfeit Kit Challenge reveal and blog hop, please scroll down or go here. For my LTSCB reveal, scroll on down or go here.

Love To Craft Challenge Blog has the first challenge of the new year posted. Our challenges are always - Anything Goes -  and it can be any type of craft project that you want to create.

Here is my card for January:

I have used Pebbles' - Be Mine - 6x6 paper pad for this card. I got this paper pad a few months ago and couldn't wait to use it  - the little cut apart sheets are so cute and are perfect for Valentine's Day cards. I've used an older stamp from a Studio G $1 bin stamp set for my sentiment.

Head on over to the LTCCB to see the beautiful creations from the rest of the design team. We can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

LTSCB #105 - Anything Goes

Hello, hello! I am back with my 3rd post for the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here. If you're looking for my Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop, please scroll down or go here.

Love To Scrap Challenge Blog is starting the year off with an Anything Goes challenge! A quick reminder of our rules - follow the specified theme, no more than 5 entries per challenge - all separate projects, must use stamping - rubber/clear stamps and digital stamps, all new projects, and link to your project post, not your entire blog. That's it - pretty easy peasy!

For January, we had the pleasure of working with a stamp set from CASual Fridays Stamps. I chose the "Pretty Posies" stamp set and here is my card using it.

I just love this big flower stamp and there are so many ways you can use this whole set! I colored the flower and leaf images with my Prima watercolor pencils. The colors are just so vibrant! Since the pink turned out to be pretty bright, I used Simple Stories - DIY Boutique - 6x6 paper pad.

Be sure to check out the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog to see more beautiful projects from the design team. We hope to see you playing along with us in the new year!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I will be right back with another project to share with you!

Counterfeit Kit January Reveal and Blog Hop.

Hello, again! This is my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Welcome to my stop on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge January Reveal and Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Leslie's blog. If you get lost along the way you can find the complete list on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog.

Here is our first inspiration kit of 2018:

Lisa has chosen Cocoa Daisy's Fair Isle kit - a great kit to help us get some of those holiday photos scrapped! This kit is full of the traditional reds and greens, but there is also a pop of pink and a little yellow can be found, too.

Here is my kit - which I have named Merry, Merry. First, my complete kit:

I started with the plaid paper in the inspiration photo. I knew I had a Christmas plaid paper from Simple Stories that I would use for my inspiration piece, then I picked a paper with words, a red dot, a green, and a stripe. When I got to the stripe my kit kind of took a different direction! My striped paper also had a bit of pink, and since I scrap a lot of photos of my granddaughter, I knew I wanted to include more pink in my kit.

For my solid colors, I included the basic black, off-white, and white cardstock, a piece of red, and I loved the look of the watercolor type paper with a bit of yellow on it, so I included a little bit of yellow, too! The kit also has a piece of dotted vellum in it and while going through my stash I found a piece of dotted vellum, so I stuck it in my kit as well.

Here are my papers:

Here are my embellishments:

To be honest, I don't have a lot of die cut/ephemera Christmas pieces, so I included a couple of sticker sheets that included the right colors and some of the same type pieces that are included in the inspiration kit, along with some alphas. I've included some red bling, some stamps, and some dies and punches to make my own embellishments if needed.

That's it for my first kit reveal. What do you think? Now it's your turn to make up a kit using the inspiration kit photo.

Next up on the blog hop is Tina. Head on over to her blog and see the fantastic kit that she has created!

Here is the complete blog hop list:

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Sketch N Scrap #144

Happy New Year! I can't believe that it is 2018! I am looking forward to the new year and all that is to come!

Today is going to be a very busy day around the old blog, so let's get started!

Sketch N Scrap has a fun new sketch to get the new year started off right! Lisa has created a great 3 photo sketch for us to work with, and as you can see by my layout, it is easy to adapt to a 2 photo layout or you could even use 4 photos, or one large photo...so many possibilities!

Let me start by saying - I love these cute photos of Miss Ada! She looks so stinkin' adorable in that Twilight Sparkle mask/glasses! I was surprised when she readily agreed to putting them on and letting me take a picture or two of her. She's a pretty good sport!

I knew I wanted to use the colors in the glasses, so purple, navy, and hot pink. Purple paper was hard to find in my stash! I did find these two pieces from Echo Park to work with. In fact, all of the papers on this layout are from Echo Park. And can you believe that in all of the thousands - yes, you read that right - thousands - of patterned papers that I have I could not find a navy blue that I thought matched! Or maybe I just didn't look hard enough, but I did have this navy polka dot washi tape out on my desk and it looked pretty good on there!

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with the circle element on the sketch. I didn't want to use more purple or hot pink, so I decided to add some Tim Holtz Distess Ink to a doily, and the colors matched really well!

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. We hope you have some time to play along with us this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be right back with another project to share with you!
