HIMCR #346 - Freestyle

Hello, and Happy Saturday! I hope that you are enjoying the Easter holiday weekend! It's supposed to be cold with even a chance at some wintery weather tomorrow, so hunting eggs may be an indoor activity!

Hiding In My Craft Room has a new challenge today. Since this is the 5th Saturday of the month this week's challenge is - Freestyle - enter any type of creation that you want!

Limited Runs Digital Stamps is our sponsor for this challenge. They have so many fun images to choose from, so be sure to stop by their site and check them out!

I had the pleasure of working with the Birthday Smile Cupcake image. I just love its happy little face!

I colored this cute image with colored pencils. The "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Close To My Heart (M1186) fit perfectly around the icing on the cupcake. I used Lawn Fawn's - Really Rainbow - 6x6 paper pad.

My card is based on this older sketch (#498) from Sketch Saturday

Be sure to stop by Hiding In My Craft Room to see the fun projects from the rest of the design team. We would love to see you playing along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Use Your Stuff #305 - Travel

Hello, hello! Happy Monday to you! I hope that you had a good weekend and are ready to get this new week started. It's looking like it's going to be a rainy week around here, but at least it's going to be halfway warm.

Use Your Stuff has a new challenge starting today. This week we are challenging you to create a project focusing on travel.

This week's challenge was a challenge for me. With having a son with autism we don't travel a lot. Sure we do day trips now and then, and I could have focused on that, but I went in a different direction.

I created a card with a travel theme. I think it would be a fun and different take for maybe a graduation card.

I used a cut apart card from Simple Stories - Urban Traveller - collection, which made this a super quick and easy card. I added the "Go find it" with letter stickers - also from Simple Stories - and I punched an airplane out of one of papers and added some foam tape behind it. So quick and easy!

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. We would love to see your take on the challenge this week.

Thank so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Summer Fun

Hello again! I thought I would pop back in and share a layout that I made for today's bonus challenge over at Sketch N Scrap's Lucky Charms Crop.

The challenge is to use any Sketch N Scrap and create a layout or a card and use at least 3 colors of the rainbow or to add a rainbow embellishment to your project.

For my layout, I have gone way back in the Sketch N Scrap archives and used Sketch #2:

I used Lawn Fawn's super cute - Really Rainbow - 6x6 paper pad for this layout. I could not resist the rainbow colors in this paper pad! I actually bought it to use in my Project Life album, but it is showing up in other projects as well! I use da scrap of yellow paper for the long strip and a 3x4 pocket card from Simple Stories. I have no idea which collection it is from as it was just laying in a pile of 3x4 cards on my desk.

I also stamped out various phrases from my roller stamps to add to the heart. I will go back and add a little bit of journaling either on the pink paper or the rainbow paper after I get more information from Abby.

Head on over to the Lucky Charms Crop and join in the fun. The deadline to enter the challenges is March 31st at midnight CST. We would love to see you play along.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

HIMCR #345 - Any Holiday

Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is off to a good start.

Hiding In My Craft Room has a new challenge starting today and this week it is - Any Holiday.

Our sponsor this week is Laurie's Craft Room and the giveaway is $10 and free shipping from Laurie's Craft Room!

Since Easter is next week, I wanted to create another Easter card.

For my card, I have once again used Echo Park's - Sunny Days Ahead - 6x6 paper pad. I keep thinking that this will be the year that I surely get this paper pad used up, but I still have quite a bit of it left. I guess I am making good use of all of my little scraps!

The image I have used is #432 - Hoppy 7 from Scribbles Designs. I just think she is the cutest little bunny and I think my granddaughter will think so, too! I've colored her with colored pencils and I had to add a little Wink of Stella to her little cotton tail - which is kind of hard to see in the photo.

Head on over to HIMCR to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. We would love to see what you create this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #256

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has a new sketch posted and I can't wait to see what you create with it! Here's a look at the sketch:

I have created a birthday card using Echo Park's - Birthday Wishes - paper and this month's stamp of the month from Close To My Heart - Birthday Time (S1803). The sentiment was stamped with Raspberry ink from Close To My Heart. Since I used my focal point for my sentiment, I punched one of the cupcakes out of the patterned paper and added it to a punched pinked circle from Tim Holtz.

Be sure to stop by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog tomorrow for the full design team reveal and last week's Top 3. We would love it if you played along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #118

Hello, hello! Happy Tuesday scrappy friends! Today is the first day of spring - warmer weather is on the way - I hope!

Sketch N Scrap has their second card sketch of the month posted today and it is one that I am sure I will use again!

I have used American Crafts - Spring - 6x6 papers for my card. I love that floral piece and I wanted to show it off on this card! I punched the scalloped border once in the red paper and once in the white paper to try to help it stand out a little better against that busy background paper. The sentiment is from an older Close To My Heart stamp set - CC1041 - Hello, Life - cardmaking.

I needed a little something more, but since my sentiment took up most of the space on that strip, I was limited to what I could use. I found this little flower punch and thought it worked perfectly.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see how the rest of the design team interpreted the sketch. We would love it if you played along with us this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back a little later with another project to share with you!

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2 - Sketch

Hello, everyone! Good Sunday morning to you! I hope you are having a good weekend. Once again, it feels like the weekend is just flying by for me.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge has their second challenge of the month posted over on the blog today. Susan has picked this sketch for us to use as inspiration:

I stuck really closely to the sketch for my layout. I loved the overall design so why mess with it?! Almost everything I used on this layout came from my March kit - Happiness Overload. You can read more about it here. I did go in search of some alphas in my stash and the circle stamp and enamel dots were not in my kit, but those were the only things that I added.

Once I had my layout put together I felt like I needed to bring in a little more of the black, so that was when I added the second circle behind the left photo. I also moved the title down to the bottom of the layout.

Head on over to Counterfeit Kit Challenge to see how the rest of the design team interpreted this sketch. Why don't you play along with us this month?

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Pure Determination - Sketches In Thyme Sketch #317

Hello again! I am back with another project to share with you.

Today is my day to be featured over on the Sketches In Thyme blog with my take on Sketch #317 - courtesy of Jenessa Franco. Here's a look at the sketch:

I have a ton of these photos of Ada from last year playing ball in the front yard. She was determined to hit that ball one way or another! She was good about keeping her eye on the ball - her eye/hand coordination just wasn't all that great! It got to the point where is was more like we were throwing the ball at the bat and trying to hit it instead of her actually hitting it! She did get in a couple of hits all on her own - with no help, so her persistence paid off!

I must say that this layout looks so much better in person. I don't know if it's the pink on here or the green, but something looks a little off on the computer as opposed to in person. I guess maybe the editing...it all really does look better in person!

Everything I used on this layout is from my March Counterfeit Kit that I put together, with the exception of the wood pieces. I am really enjoying creating with this kit this month! You can read all about it in this post here.

Head on over to Sketches In Thyme to see more inspiration any day of the week. We would love to see you play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

HIMCR #344 - Tic Tac Toe

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! I hope that your weekend is off to a great start. We don't have any real plans and I am hoping that I get to spend most of my weekend in my scrap room!

It's time for a new challenge at Hiding In My Craft Room and The Cutting Cafe is our sponsor this week. The prize is 3 sets from The Cutting Cafe shop.

Our challenge for this week is - Tic Tac Toe - pick a row from the board below - up and down, across, or diagonal - and use those items on your project.

Here is my card using the Easter Fun Printable Set.

I used the first row on the tic-tac-toe board - ribbon, scalloped shape, and a button. The image I used was pre-colored and it matched really well with Echo Park's - Sunny Days Ahead - 6x6 paper pad.

Head on over to Hiding In My Craft Room to see the beautiful creations from the rest of the design team. We hope you find some time this week to play along with us!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme PL Style Sketch #98

Hello, hello! Happy Friday! Here we are at the weekend once again. I am going to enjoy being able to sleep in a little later tomorrow.

We have our second sketch of the month posted today over at Sketches In Thyme PL Style. Emma has created a fun sketch for us to work with:

I stretched the sketch to make my title card for week 8.

I always like my weekly title card to fit into one of the 6x4 pockets and this sketch was super easy to stretch and make that happen. I really thought I was going to have my full spread ready to share this week - then I realized that the majority of photos for this week are on my phone and I haven't ordered them yet...I will share when I get them ordered and picked up!

Since I stretched the sketch I added in a couple of little banner pieces to the top left side. I might add a phrase sticker or something to them once I see what the feel of the overall layout is going to be.

Head on over to Sketches In Thyme PL Style to see how the other design team members have interpreted the sketch. We would love it if you played along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog Challenge #63 - Bunny Hop

Hello, hello! Happy Thursday to you! Can you believe that it is the middle of March already?! Since it is the middle of the month that means we have a new challenge for you Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog!

Our challenge this time around is - Bunny Hop - we want to see you use a bunny or a rabbit on your projects. Easter is coming up so this would be a great time to get an Easter project made, but you don't have to follow the Easter theme - just use a bunny or a rabbit.

I made an Easter card using Echo Park's older Easter/Spring 6x6 paper pad - Sunny Days Ahead - and I used one of the cutest bunny images from Scribbles Designs - #426 - Hoppy 3

I colored my bunny with my Prima watercolor pencils and added in 3 cute little circle stickers in the same colors as what I used on my bunny.

There are so many of these super cute bunnies in the shop - head on over and check them all out here!

Be sure to stop by Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog to see the fabulous bunny projects from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with our Bunny Hop challenge!

Use Your Stuff #303 - Die Cuts

Hello and happy Monday! I hope that you all had a good weekend.

It's the start of a new week and that means it's time for a new challenge today at Use Your Stuff. This week we want to see die cuts on your projects. You can use die cuts that you cut out yourself, or you can use premade die cuts like you find in an ephemera pack.

For my card, I have used Carta Bella's - Flora No. 2 - 6x6 paper pad and the "hello" word die is from the Flora No. 2 die set - Thanks Darling Words. The large butterfly is a die from Jen Hadfield. I thought my card looked a little plain with just the one butterfly, but I didn't have a small butterfly die, so I dug out a couple of butterfly punches to create the small butterfly. I was surprised at how well it matched the butterfly die!

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. We hope to see you playing along with our die cut challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

HIMCR #343- Super Scraps Saturday

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! I hope that you are ready for the weekend. My oldest son is on spring break this next week and it's good to have him home again!

It's my favorite Saturday of month because it's Super Scraps Saturday at Hiding In My Craft Room. Pull out that scrap basket and get some of those scraps used this week!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Gracielle Design and the giveaway is a $10 gift certificate to their store. Be sure to stop by and check out their store.

Gracielle Design supplied each of the design team members with a digital stamp set of our choosing. I chose the - Coffee and Love - digital set. I love the coffee cup image and the sentiments in this set are great!

Whenever I got ready to work on my card I pulled out a few scraps that I thought I would use and took a photo of them. Then, as my card started to come together, I went in a different direction and ended up using a different set of scraps that I forgot to take a photo of! Maybe next time I will get it all together!

The turquoise and yellow are all from my scraps. The pink paper was a 6x6 paper that I cut down for my card base. The image was colored with colored pencils.

Head on over to Hiding In My Craft Room  to see the beautiful creations from the rest of the design team. We can't wait to see what you create with your scraps this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

So Much Joy...

Hi, guys! I thought I would pop back in here really quickly and share another layout with you.

Libby over at Soul Scrappers has posted the new single page sketch challenge for March and I had a lot of fun playing along with it. The sketch has lots of layers behind the photo - which I am really liking to do right now.

I still had my February Doubleshot Kit from The Scraproom out and I thought the papers from PhotoPlay Paper's - Boys Rules - collection would be great for this older photo of Shane (that I may or may not have already scrapped - I can't remember!).

I really love the blue and green papers that came in the kit, but I felt my layout needed a bit more color. Since the sticker sheet was full of yellow and orange stickers, I dug through my Echo Park stash and found some yellow and orange scraps that matched perfectly. I also pulled some stickers from Echo Park's  - A Boy's Life - collection to give me more embellishments to work with.

I popped the banner sticker up on some foam tape to give it a little dimension.

The darker blues in the two collections are slightly different - one is more navy and the other a little brighter blue but on the actual layout, they really don't look that far off!

Head on over to Soul Scrappers and check out all of the monthly challenges. We would love to have you join us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #254

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope that you are doing well.

I'm here today to share with you my take on this week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is a look at the sketch:

We just recently found out that one of my nieces is going to have a baby boy the end of July, so I thought I would get a card all ready to go for the special occasion.

I have used Close To My Heart's - Chelsea Gardens - papers for this card. I had originally stamped those cute little elephants in glacier ink, but they blended in with the background too much, so I decided to stamp them in charcoal and I like it so much better!

The stamp set is an older set from My Favorite Things called - Beautiful Baby.

Our full design team reveals and Top 3 from last week will be up on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog tomorrow, so be sure to stop by for lots of inspiration! We would love to see you playing along with us this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

One Happy Girl

Hello, everyone! I hope your week is off to a good start.

I thought I would pop in here really quickly and share a layout with you that I created for my challenge over at Home and Scrapped on Facebook. My challenge is called - Pattern Play - and you are to use polka dots on your layout. Big dots, small dots - use a little or a lot - the choice is yours.

Here is my layout:

I love to use polka dots, or dots in general, on my projects - they just make me happy - and I loved this dotted paper that is in the new Simple Stories "I Am..." collection. In fact, all of the papers on this layout is from that collection, with the exception of the black cardstock background.

Since Ada was having fun with her bubble toy, I recreated the bubbles with vellum circles that I inked the edges of to make them stand out a little more.

When I looked up the date for these photos, I couldn't believe that it was 2 years ago! Time just keeps on flying by!

That's it for me today. I will be back tomorrow with another project to share with you!

HIMCR #342 - Monochromatic Greens

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! I hope that your weekend is off to a good start. We are having some beautiful spring weather today, and I think a bar-b-que is going to be happening a little later.

It's the first Saturday of the month and that means we have a color challenge at Hiding In My Craft Room. This week we want to see monochromatic greens on your projects.

Our sponsor for this week is Ike's Art and the prize is a $15 gift certificate to their store.

I had the pleasure of working with the Shamrock Bear image from Ike's Art.

Since our challenge is monochromatic greens, I decided to color this cute little guy green, too. I found some old Doodlebug Designs plaid paper in my stash and it was the perfect shade of green.

Head on over to Hiding In My Craft Room to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. We can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme PL Style #97

Hello, hello! Happy Friday to you! We have made it to the weekend and I am so ready for it! It's been a busy week for me and I am looking forward to a couple of lazy days, hopefully, filled with lots of scrappy time.

Sketches In Thyme PL Style has the first sketch of March posted today. Shawn has created a fun sketch for us to work with:

And here is my card:

So...I have really been wanting to work on my 2018 album - and this is the first card that I have gotten made for it Yeah. Life has had other plans for me! I have pictures for almost all of January already in the page protectors, but that is as far as I have gotten. No embellishing. No filler cards. No title cards. Just the pictures. I do hope that now that I have this card for February made that maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to get more done! In fact, my 2018 album is on my to-do list for this weekend. Hopefully, I'll at least get my title page done!

For this card, I have used Elle's Studio's  - Family Fun - collection. This collection is so bright and fun and I know it will be showing up more in my album.

Instead of two photos, I used one - since I had so much to say! I really liked the look of the triangle shaped piece across the front - I think it creates a little more interest as opposed to just a border strip.

My plan is to be back soon with more of my album to share - like maybe an actual completed page! I don't want to continue to let it take a back seat to all of my other projects - I would like to get somewhat caught up with 2018 and actually finish it this year!

Head on over to Sketches In Thyme PL Style to see more inspiration from the design team. We would love to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back a little later with another project to share with you!

Scribbles Designs Mid Month Inspiration

Hi, guys! I am back with one more post for you today. It has been a super busy day on my blog, so be sure to keep scrolling down to see it all!

Today is our midway post for our "Go For Green" challenge at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog. I have created a St. Patty's Day card using an older Authentique collection - Lucky.

For this card,  I have used one of our free images - #F 109 - Shamrock Balloons and the tag is - #B 16 - Tag 1.

I printed the balloons onto the tag image and then colored them with colored pencils. I typed up the sentiment and added it across the balloon strings. I really like how this card turned out! I don't send a lot of St. Patty's Day cards each year, but I will be happy to send this one out!

Be sure to stop by the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog to see the "green" projects from the rest of the design team. We hope to see you playing along with us this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Stick It Down March Card Sketch

Hello again! I am back with my 5th post of the day - I told you it was going to be busy around here!

I am the featured designer this month at Stick It Down, so I get to share my take on the card sketch with you today! Here is a look at the March card sketch:

If you can't tell, I am really ready for spring! This winter has been so cold and we haven't even had a good snow - all we have gotten this year has been ice - yuck - so, I decided I to make a nice and bright, sunshiny card!

I just a scrap of this yellow dot paper out on my desk and put it to use on this card. I really like the bright yellow against the white background and I hope that this sunny little card will brighten someone's day!

Head on over to Stick It Down to see the single page and double page sketches as well as the card sketch. I would love to see your take on our sketch this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back a little later with one more project to share with you!

LTCCB #20 - March Anything Goes

Hello and welcome back! This is my fourth post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, the Counterfeit Kit Club blog hop, or my Love To Scrap Challenge Blog reveal, just scroll down a little further.

It's time for a new challenge at Love To Craft Challenge Blog. Our challenges are always "Anything Goes" and you can link up any type of craft that you want.

For my project, I have created a thank you card:

For this card, I have used  Heidi Swapp's - September Skies - 6x6 paper pad, which I have included in my Counterfeit Kit this month. I just love the colors in this collection - they are just so pretty!

I also used this older sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

I embossed the white panel with my swiss dot embossing folder and I do believe that all of the patterned paper that I used were scraps from the 6x6 paper pad. I love getting those little bits and pieces used up!

Be sure to stop by the LTCCB to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. We can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

LTSCB #107 - Anything Goes

Hello, hello! I am back with my third post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N  Scrap reveal or the Counterfeit Kit Blog Hop, please scroll on down.

Love To Scrap Challenge Blog has the March challenge posted today and this month is - Anything Goes! We have a fabulous sponsor this month - Blank Page Muse - and the prize for this month is a $25 gift certificate to their store.

Here is the card that I created for this challenge:

Blank Page Muse sent us each a variety of stamps to use for our projects. I have used the "Everything is going to be alright" sentiment and one of the birds from the "Birds and clocks" stamp set.

I've used the Heidi Swapp - September Skies - 6x6 paper pad from my March Counterfeit Kit. The blue floral paper is so soft and pretty and I thought it would be beautiful for an encouragement card.

I stamped the bird with Juniper ink from Close To My Heart and then fussy cut it out and added a bit of foam tape for a little bit of dimension. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I absolutely love the way that this card turned out! Everything just came together beautifully!

Be sure to check out the Blank Page Muse shop - they have so many beautiful stamp sets. Head on over to LTSCB to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team.

We hope to see you playing along with us this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I will be right back with another project to share with you!

Counterfeit Kit Challenge March Reveal and Blog Hop

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll on down.

The first of the month means we have a new kit to counterfeit at Counterfeit Kit Challenges and that also means that we have our blog hop reveal for you today! You should have arrived here from Lisa's beautiful blog. As always, if you get lost along the way you can find the complete list on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog and at the end of this post.

Susan has taken a little different approach to our kit this month and you can read all about it over on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog, but for now, here is this month's inspiration kit from Susan called "Little Bits of Happy".

The minute that I saw that striped paper from Heidi Swapp's - September Skies collection - I knew that this was going to be my favorite kit so far! I love every single piece of Susan's kit and I had so much fun putting my own kit together. The colors in this kit are my favorites to work with and they just make me happy - hence the name of my kit - Happiness Overload.

When I was putting this kit together, I seriously had to stop myself twice from stopping to work on a layout before I even had the photos of my kit taken! I could have pulled enough papers from my stash to go in this kit to last me the rest of the year and not get tired of it, but I refrained and just pulled a "few".

Since I had the same striped paper in my stash, that is where I started with my kit. In fact, I pulled several sheets from the September Skies collection to go in my kit - the wide black and white stripe, the turquoise floral, and the grey tone on tone paper. Then I pulled a few orange papers, pink papers, navy papers and green papers. The stripe did not include any yellow, but I had to add a couple of sheets to finish out my rainbow.

I also pulled some solid papers to go with my patterned papers. The inspiration kit also included a wood grain and a couple of pieces of vellum. I found this gold heart vellum in my stash and thought it would be a great addition to my kit.

I've also been working on reorganizing my room - which seems to be a never-ending job - so before I put these scraps away in my scrap box, I added them to my kit to hopefully get them used up.

I added several different alpha sticker sheets in all of the colors of my kit and a few other sticker sheets as well.

I liked the big wood veneer piece and the puffy stickers in the inspiration kit, so I went through my stash and found these wood pieces, a sheet of somewhat puffy word stickers and heart stickers. I even had a bunch of the old Making Memories square, round, and rectangle metal rimmed tags in my stash, so I threw them into my kit as well. I also added the September Skies 6x6 paper pad to hopefully use up.

I am looking forward to working with my kit this month and can't wait to share what I create with you!

Next up on the hop is Margie. Head on over to her blog to see the kit that she has created.

Here's the complete list of the hop:
